10 Ways To Develop a Healthy Self-Picture

  1. Never hate yourself: Always understand the fact that you are not the creator of your life. God created you in His image and this simply means you are just like Him. There is, therefore, no reason to hate the YOU that was created by God.
  2. Speak positive words about yourself: God loves you and has great plans for you. It is absurd to hate what God loves. There is nothing negative about your life, it is only your thought patterns that is negative.
  3. Change how you think: You really don’t have more problems than others, it is just that you think about them at all times. The moment you change how you think, you definitely change how you
feel. It simply means that your thought determines your feeling. So change your
thought to align with God’s thoughts and will for you.
  4. Never assume that every wrong is your fault: It is okay to make mistakes and admit them when you do, but never regard every wrong as your fault. Things would definitely go wrong at some point, don’t take all the blame.
  5. Centre your thought on Christ: In everything, keep your gaze on Christ. He should always be the focus in all seasons. Making Christ the focus means you recognize Him as the only option in your life.
  6. Pay attention to your health: Health, they say, is wealth. God’s plan for you is not to be sick or die young. It is therefore important that you take care of your physical body as this brings about
    peace.
  7. Never stop learning: No teaching is a waste and “enough will never be enough”. There will always be more to learn. Do not be relaxed in your comfort zone, rather, strive for more.
  8. Live a life of purpose: Every man is created by God for a purpose; this means fulfilling that purpose is a must. Identify your purpose and work towards achieving it. Living a life of purpose brings about peace and helps you to feel good about who you are, what you represent, and the destination you are heading to.
  9. Never look down on others: We are different, and we all have different seasons. That you are better at something than others shouldn’t make you look down on them. Let brotherly love continues.
  10. Accept your weakness: No one is perfect and everyone has flaws. Accepting your weakness makes you dependent on God.
